Learn Material, Process, and Special Techniques in drawing and illustration.
Individual instruction is available for kids, teens and adults. We can also accommodate small groups of 4 students per session. Ages 5 and up are welcome.
WHAT WE TEACH
Learning the basic job of your drawing tools is key and relevant to good drawing practices. We start with simple short sample drawings while you adjust to this new and exciting creative activity. Then we move into learning how to see using specific tricks to make the process easier.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE:
- Graphite pencils
- Charcoal
- Pen/Ink
- Prisma Color
OBSERVATIONAL SKILL:
- Learning to "see" better is key to success, therefore ALL sessions cover observational objectives.
- Simply Objects and Gesture Sketch
- Proportions and Relationships (perspective)
TECHNICAL PROCESSES:
- Chiaroscuro (Light and Shade) - graphite or charcoal massing
- Sketch or Realism - any medium
- Texture massing with Ink
- Tint to Shade - color
- Transparent Layer - color
- Opaque Layer - color

PRICING
*Private Session..................$50.00 per person/per hour (2 hr minimum)
**Semi-Private Session....$40.00 per person/per hour (2 hr minimum)
Additional time, at a rate of $20 per each 1/2 hour.
Follow up to your class will receive a $5.00 discount per hour.
Sessions can be done at your place or mine.
Location Requirements:
Good lighting, open space tables and chairs to accommodate, comfortable temperature.
(if the basic requirements are not met when we arrive... your appt will be rescheduled.)
You will be required to purchase most drawing material before the session.
*Private is one student
**Semi private is up to 4 students.
