Easy and awesome acrylic painting tips for begginers

Painting with acrylics can be a fulfilling and enjoyable experience, but the learning process can be daunting, especially in the beginning. It may seem like there is a lot to learn and overcome, and it can be discouraging if early attempts at painting don't turn out as desired. It is common to feel overwhelmed by the vast array of painting tools and materials available, and to struggle with fear and uncertainty. However, it is important to remember that the most important thing is to keep moving forward and to not give up on your goals of becoming a better painter. Below, you will find some tips and advice based on my personal experience as a painter, that I wish I had known when I first started.

So let's get right into in, this article has some good tips, and I love to share it with you. Here are some of the steps that stood out for me.

Tip 1- Use Synthetic brushes

When starting out painting, learning how to use your brushes is the best thing you can. When you learn which type of brushes you need and how to use them properly they can become easy tools to help you achieve beautiful art.

But unfortunately, brushes can often be intimidating for beginners and they often avoid learning about them.

I was one of them

Head on over to the paint section of any art store and you will most likely be faced with a sea of brushes. From different sizes, shapes and even hair types.

There is an overwhelming sea of different brush options.

And on top of that they don’t come with any type of instruction manual on how they were designed to be use or even how to take care of them.

But I’ve got good news for you: if you want to learn all you need to know [as a beginner] about your brushes like:

Which 5 brushes you actually need as a beginner
How to use each brush (as it’s meant to be used)
How to care and clean your brushes so they actually last (and save you $$)
Hands-on brush exercises and painting tutorials (with video) that’ll level-up your brush strokes and techniques

Now, in terms of basic brushes you’ll want to look for brushes made out of synthetic hair. Not only are they less expensive than other brushes but this type works best with the components in acrylic paint.

Tip 2 - Most Acrylic Paintings can be created with only three basic brushes.

These 3 basic brushes that will give you the biggest bang for your buck.

Large Flat Brush (synthetic hair):used to fill in large areas like backgrounds, filling in large shapes, etc..
Medium size Fan Brush (synthetic hair): This special effects brush can be used to create interesting texture and help create foliage, pine trees and blending paint.
Small round brush (synthetic hair): used for smaller shapes and detail work, highlighting, etc.

Tip 3- Change the texture of your strokes with a palette knife.

Palette knives create distinct, modern-looking strokes. They can really add texture and movement to acrylic paintings

Team Builder activity Speaker gone wild

Yes!! That's right, one of the speakers we had going was doing some things, but I will get to that in a second.

We recently did a team builder for San Jacinto District School Staff. If you joined us when we went Live, then you were able to join the paint party experience for just a bit, thank you for being part of it!

I enjoyed bringing this awesome group of folks a creative break from the amazing and important job they do everyday as teachers. With great power come great responsibility... yes that a spider man quote, but couldn't be more true.

Thank you for all that you do.

Now, let me tell you....

Every party we have music playing while we enjoy painting. This party the speaker decided to turn on and off when it wanted to, I know sounds like a joke. We could not figure it out, then we realized that the reception wasn't too good and I was running pandora, lol. Anyhow quick fix put on playlist, but it sure had us stumped for a bit. Speaker gone wild, we even plugged in a second speaker, it was funny.

At the end everyone finished and created some amazing artwork. check it out ��

Well today reminds me of a day that I once had, it started out like a normal day and as I had breakfast and went about my day, could not help but see how beautiful the weather was outside. Since I love to paint, I said to myself, I'm going to have a paint day. As I started to gather ideas of what I could paint, I went outside to get a bit of inspiration. Once I had my idea, I went inside and started to gather supplies, like paint brushes, a canvas, some paint....but guess what, I didn't have all the supplies I needed, so I went to the supply store and got what I needed to have my paint day, the day was saved and I had so much fun.

This is what got me thinking there must be an easier way to gather supplies when I did not have some, and surely I know there must be other people that have had a similar situation. So I created a a Kit for you, that can ordered online and have delivered to your door.

This kit includes Includes: 1 - 12" x 16" canvas panel, 4 - assorted acrylic brushes, 1 - color mixing chart, custom acrylic paint, and 1 - antennae so you can get into the Bee mood.

In celebration of what is the most beautiful aspect of creativity, and how it is inspired by the things we surround ourself with, this planet has so much beauty it gives us. As I made a post on instagram yesterday about going outside to be able to spark creativity when it I need some inspiration.

We all have to do our part no matter how small it may be, together we can make a big difference in it.

I have faith in us, we can accomplish so may things together, this is no different. We will make our planet more green, more blue, and enjoy all the wonderful and amazing creatures that roam it.

So enjoy your environment today and let this day be celebrated by our daily actions to make our planet better. Love you Earth!!!

Must Have Painting tool

An easel is a piece of equipment that allows you to stand your painting or drawing surface in a nearly upright position. I have found that this tool is one of the most important parts of my art supply. Of course, this fashion of painting or drawing has its pluses and minuses with regards to size of art surface and style of painting or drawing.

The most important aspect of painting upright (vertical) is being able to have a perpendicular view of your art as you work. If your large paintings or drawings are flat (horizontal), many times, you will experience some level of distortion of your figures and marks once you stand or hang the work in a vertical position.

I have an assortment of easels in my studio. When being versatile or flexible with your equipment types, you can open yourself up to location options for your painting experience.

My studio easel is very large to support large format work. It is wooden with adjustable hinges for various positions and wheels for easy mobility.

My backup studio easel is light weight, made of aluminum and completely collapsible for storing if needed.

My tabletop easel for smaller work is very lightweight aluminum and completely collapsible for placing in an art bag for travel.

My very special branded easels consist of 2 parts that are easily nested together for portability. It is a multi-notched canvas holder made of premium wood, very lightweight and will pop into any small bag or even your back pocket for travel.

Side note.. Easels are the perfect tool for most painting and drawing processes. It may not be the best tool for watercolor or ink wash processes because those mediums are very watery and will drip.

Multi-Functional Portable Pocket Easel

The difference between painting flat and painting upright

Depending on your project and medium will determine if you can paint upright or flat. Most of my work is flat because my medium viscosity is pretty thin and drippy.

If you paint upright with that sort of paint, you will have drips flowing down the surface. Unless that is your mission, then you will want to keep your painting flat. When working with a thicker, more stable medium, working upright is wonderful.

You will be able to squarely view your work as you are creating it, conversely, working flat gives you a skewed view of the artwork which sometimes causes distortion of some of your figures or shapes in the painting. So try to work upright as much as you can as a beginning painter. The best tool for doing so is to use an easel.

There are tons of types on the market, ranging from; portable or studio style easels; wooden or metal; large or small. There are so many choices to choose from. When I am on the go, I will grab one of my portable/pocket easels which easily fits into a backpack or art bag. On the go equipment is an awesome addition to your art supply.

While doing so, she has collaborated with Paint Hive Studio to further enhance their lives with creative arts. The staff and 40 shelter residents (not seen) had a great time virtual painting and sharing dialogue in the chat.

Their comments were positive and their wish is to do this again!
